PRE ORDER: 23/06/2023 Canadian industrial metal pioneers Skinny Puppy deserve way more credit for their groundbreaking work fusing EBM synthesis and heavy metal into a sound which would inform Nine Inch Nails more than a little bit. Their label PIAS clearly know what’s up, as they gather together a choice four tracks for this single as a kind of mini-best of. «Dig It» from 1986 is a dirty, sinewy slammer for the danciest of goth clubs, while 1987’s «Addiction (First Dose)» has a snappy, electro-funk flavour that easily crosses boundaries to be a straight-up banger wherever you like to get down. «Assimilate» is a swing-beat stomper at turns sweet and savage like only Skinny Puppy can be, and 1984’s «Smothered Hope» captures the band at their earliest, creating a visionary kind of deathly synth pop which even beats Ministry to the jump. TRACKLIST 1. Dig It 2. Addiction (First Dose) 3. Assimilate 4. Smothered Hope
